This Detroit Applications Engineer job requires interface with the client, providing lean and functional solutions their engineering needs, and accurately forecasting program costs. The job further requires engineering drawing, along with the ability to approve, implement, and monitor engineering changes orders. This Detroit job also requires the Applications Engineer to provide lean production means; adeptly focusing on cost reduction, accurate design to production timing, and product functionality.

• The Applications Engineer job will require heavy client interfacing, product planning and design, along with the ability to implement rapid changes to production as needed.
• This Detroit job requires an advanced level of engineering knowledge, along with the ability to lead a manufacturing team.
• Applications Engineer job requires experience in project kick-off, prototype building, mold design reviews, DFMEA, and scheduling., * Bachelor of Science in some engineering discipline; Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Complete understanding of Part Design Standards, Mold Design Standards, and Mold Manufacture Standards, and RFQ process.
• OEM or PLM experience preferred.
• Program management experience highly desired for the job.
• Previous job experience with mechanical engineering processes; FEA, MFA, and GD&T, for example.
• Superior problem solving and initiative.
• Team leading and teamwork mindset.
• Data management and information transfer skills.
• Flexible and capable of managing time to allow for special projects
