Under the direct supervision of the CJIS Manager I, this position is responsible for the processing of requests from local, state, and federal agencies and the public related to personal reviews and challenges, compromised identity claims, court ordered name changes, agency corrections, disposition updates, and data quality issues. This position requires extensive research using multiple databases to ensure requests are properly processed with accurate information. This position is also responsible for providing quality service to the public regarding these processes as well as state and federal guidelines. This position must meet and maintain a National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases., Specific duties include: Conducting research for accurate and complete criminal justice information by utilizing internal and external data bases or making contact with other criminal justice and non-criminal agencies to ensure all information received or disseminated is compliant with state and federal requirements; Conducting research for relevant information from multiple databases to support additions, deletions, and modifications to CCH; Analyzing multiple source documents, forming a recommendation, and entering addition, deletion, and modifications in CCH following BSS standard operations manual; Ensuring quality assurance of all CCH additions, deletions, and modifications by conducting a secondary review of documentation for complete and accurate information; Monitoring workflow system for cases pending review; Evaluating changes to CCH record and analyzes attached documentation to support the CCH addition, deletion, or modification; Reviewing all relevant information in order to approve or reject the modification as outlined in the BSS operations manual; Evaluating and analyzes incoming requests and applies state and federal rules, laws, and procedures to formulate a recommendation and ensure compliance with agency requirements; Processing incoming requests, evaluates for completeness, and enters into CCH workflow; and Validating documentation received as needed.

Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication; Knowledge of the criminal justice system; Knowledge of the methods of data collection; Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data; Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques; Ability to operate computers and other office equipment; Ability to monitor criminal justice information activities; Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments; Ability to communicate effectively; and Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others., FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. The elements of a background include: financial credit check, criminal history of applicant and applicant’s immediate family or roommates, personal references, employment and education verifications (which includes official transcript(s)), drug screen and fingerprinting.
