Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join its Infrastructure team and provide hands-on engineering support for enterprise cloud environments across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

This is not a cloud architecture-only role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, automating, configuring, and supporting cloud infrastructure while partnering closely with application teams to modernize workloads and migrate applications from on-premises environments to the cloud.

The successful candidate will help establish cloud governance, improve security and compliance, expand Infrastructure as Code practices, and serve as a trusted technical resource for development and business teams adopting cloud technologies. Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Infrastructure Engineering

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise cloud infrastructure across AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources to support business applications and services.
  • Assist application teams with migrating workloads from on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot production cloud issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Provide ongoing operational support for cloud infrastructure while maintaining high availability and performance.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

  • Provision cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reusable Terraform modules.
  • Create new infrastructure modules and automation solutions for emerging business needs.
  • Improve consistency, scalability, and repeatability of cloud deployments.
  • Automate cloud provisioning and operational tasks using scripting and automation tools.

Cloud Governance, Security & Compliance

  • Help establish and maintain enterprise cloud governance standards.
  • Support multi-account cloud environments using AWS Organizations and related governance capabilities.
  • Implement cloud security controls, policies, and best practices.
  • Ensure cloud resources comply with organizational security and compliance standards.
  • Promote standardized, secure, and repeatable cloud deployments across the organization.

Technical Consulting & Support

  • Serve as a technical advisor for application teams adopting cloud technologies.
  • Assist internal teams with cloud solution design, deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into practical cloud solutions.
  • Provide hands-on implementation following solution design and planning.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for cloud environments, automation, and operational procedures.
  • Document configurations, deployment standards, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
  • Share knowledge with infrastructure engineers, application teams, and other technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud operations and support processes., * Designing, building, and supporting cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure.
  • Creating Infrastructure as Code solutions and reusable deployment modules.
  • Supporting cloud migrations from on-premises environments.
  • Implementing enterprise cloud governance and security standards.
  • Troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure issues.
  • Partnering with development teams to enable successful cloud adoption.
  • Producing clear technical documentation and sharing knowledge across the organization.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule with three days onsite each week. Candidates should be comfortable working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while supporting enterprise cloud initiatives.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Requirements

  • Approximately 8+ years of progressive IT infrastructure and cloud engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and support Azure environments.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience migrating workloads from on-premises environments to the cloud.
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform or comparable technologies such as AWS CloudFormation or Azure Bicep.
  • Experience creating, modifying, and maintaining reusable Infrastructure as Code modules.
  • Experience supporting enterprise cloud governance, security, and compliance initiatives.
  • Knowledge of AWS Organizations and multi-account cloud environments.
  • Experience implementing cloud security controls and standardized deployment practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within production cloud environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong documentation skills and commitment to knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives while working effectively within a small, collaborative team.
