Working alongside Cloud Architects, DevOps Engineers, Software Developers, and Security Leads, you will drive cloud-native modernizations, enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, and streamline CI/CD release pipelines. This position balances hands-on cloud engineering with technical governance, offering clear opportunities to mentor team members and shape UK enterprise cloud strategies., * Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure Engineering: Architect, deploy, and manage secure, resilient, and auto-scaling cloud infrastructure across public cloud platforms (AWS or Microsoft Azure).

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate resource provisioning, configuration routines, and environment management using Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Automation: Design, build, and maintain robust continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) release pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy, scale, and monitor containerized microservices operating on Docker and managed Kubernetes clusters (EKS/AKS).
  • Cloud Security & Compliance: Implement Zero Trust network principles, IAM policies, encryption strategies, and role-based access control (RBAC), ensuring full alignment with UK GDPR and ISO 27001 standards.
  • FinOps & Resource Optimization: Monitor cloud cost structures, conduct utilization audits, set up auto-scaling policies, and continuously drive cost efficiencies.
  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Author reusable cloud architectural patterns, establish operational documentation, and provide ongoing mentorship to mid-level and junior engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in a Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Infrastructure Automation role within a structured corporate environment.
  • Deep technical proficiency in at least one major public cloud platform (AWS or Microsoft Azure).
  • Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically utilizing Terraform.
  • Strong hands-on experience with container environments (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS).
  • Proficiency in operational scripting using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Solid foundation in enterprise networking: VPCs/VNets, DNS, Load Balancers, Transit Gateways, DirectConnect/ExpressRoute, and VPNs.
  • Demonstrated track record building and automating production CI/CD pipelines.

Desirable

  • Active Professional Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional/Associate), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Experience with FinOps frameworks and cloud cost-optimization tools (CloudHealth, Kubecost).
  • Understanding of multi-cloud architectures and hybrid integration setups.
