Job description

  • Fully remote role with genuine flexibility and excellent work-life balance.
  • Join an award-winning fire protection business with outstanding long-term career prospects.
  • Design a variety of technically challenging fire suppression projects across the UK.

We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading UK fire protection specialist that forms part of a larger, award-winning group recognised as The Sunday Times Best Places to Work. With continued growth and investment in both technology and people, they’re looking to strengthen their design team with an experienced Fire Protection Design Engineer.

As a Design Engineer, you’ll produce detailed designs for a range of fire protection projects, working closely with project managers, clients and installation teams to ensure technically compliant, cost-effective solutions. This is a fully remote position offering the opportunity to work on varied and complex projects while being part of a highly supportive engineering team.

Requirements

  • Experience designing water mist, gas suppression or sprinkler systems.
  • FIA accreditation (or relevant FIA design qualifications) is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant fire protection standards and regulations.
  • Ability to produce technical drawings and design calculations.
  • Experience using AutoCAD (or similar design software).
  • Comfortable with occasional travel to the Reading office (typically around once per month).
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
