Job description

Use Microsoft Excel as your primary tool to clean, validate, analyze, and visualize real-world data that helps train and evaluate next-generation AI systems. Your domain expertise will shape how models learn, reason, and perform. This is a remote contractor role with a mission-driven data lab focused on converting subject matter expertise into high-quality training data across domains such as finance, healthcare, STEM engineering, and more. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth data analysis in Microsoft Excel to surface actionable insights and support decision-making across teams
  • Review, clean, and validate datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity
  • Develop clear reports and visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into meaningful analyses
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities in complex datasets and contribute to strategic initiatives
  • Document methodologies, results, and recommendations with meticulous attention to detail
  • Work cross-functionally to contribute expertise that enhances data-driven decision making within the customer team

Requirements

  • Proven experience performing data analysis in a business environment using Microsoft Excel as the primary tool
  • Strong knowledge of Excel functions, formulas, data cleaning techniques, data validation, and data visualization tools within Excel
  • Experience identifying data inconsistencies and implementing corrective measures
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data processing and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate analytical findings clearly
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and work in cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes
  • Experience in fast-paced, data-driven organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams with data insights to inform business strategy
  • Background presenting analytical outcomes to diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with additional data analysis tools or business intelligence platforms

Work Terms

  • Engagement type: Independent contractor
  • Location: Remote

  • No prior experience in AI required, domain knowledge and subject matter expertise are the key factors

Benefits & conditions

Hourly pay range: $40 to $55 per hour., + $85,000-95,000 per year
