Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Systems Administrator - II to join our innovative IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for remotely managing and maintaining client’s IT and related security applications/systems, providing technical support and related assistance to clients and internal staff., * Be able to act as an escalation from any issues from an SSE - Level 1.

  • Work with a diverse group of clients, that ranges from highly polished corporate environments with complex rules and high-tech platforms, to low end businesses with simple processes and infrastructure.
  • Participate in all day-to-day action items of the office.
  • Configure and manage a wide range of IT and Security solutions (such as: IT Networks, Video Surveillance, Physical Access Control, Servers, Storage Arrays, and system monitoring solutions)
  • Proactively manage system uptime on clients’ solutions, using monitoring tools and activity addressing potential issues or platform outages.
  • Manage and follow Change Management Procedures such as software updates, patches, or changes.
  • Participate in product provisioning which includes design, planning, coordinating, and implementation (to include data migration, programming, testing and other related tasks).
  • Manage basic operations and services for a site or multiple sites, including adds, moves, changes, monitoring and reporting.
  • Monitor & manage the daily inbound requests or service tickets to a successful completion, from clients, partners, and vendors.
  • Provide technical support to clients and company staff.
  • Provide training and support on product usage.
  • Provide direction and guidance for all daily tasks (internal & external technical requests) as needed.
  • Assist field teams work on construction sites or within facilities to troubleshoot existing systems or bring new infrastructure online.
  • Create notes, documents and reports in support of work performed.
  • Communicate with teams and clients, update team leads, managers or clients on the status of all work performed on a daily basis.
  • Identify potential operational & client problems and report them to supervisor or Department Head.
  • Work as a liaison with clients, co-workers and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure cooperation and teamwork between all team members, and between all offices.
  • Ensure timeliness of internal and client-facing projects.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call work schedule.
  • Ensure office compliance of company policies and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate best efficiencies and productivity within the team members.
  • Develop new skills and knowledge as it applies to client’s systems or new services offered by the company.
  • Attend & pass manufacturer product certifications & training.
  • Participate in technical research and development, to enable continuing innovation within the organization.

Requirements

  • Be working or have recently worked in the field as a Level 1 or Level 2 Systems Administrator for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Must possess 2 plus consecutive years or reoccurring certifications in at least 1 leading Video and Access Control Systems products that NYSS supports.
  • Must possess 2 plus consecutive years experiences and practical knowledge in using primary in-house service tools.
  • Have played significant role in at least 10 successful client deployments of base systems in both Video and Access Control Systems.
  • Have advanced understanding of software standards in Networking, Servers, and Applications
  • Have advanced understating of Database Administration.
  • Have advanced knowledge of Hardware such as Desktop, Laptop and Mobile Computers, Servers, and Networks.
  • Possess an expert knowledge of Microsoft & Linux operating platforms.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of mainstream mobile operating systems.
  • Possess LAN & internet advanced knowledge and troubleshooting.
  • Have and demonstrate good problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Have excellent communication, motivational and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work across different actions, departments, and time zones, and with different cultural backgrounds around the world.
  • Efficiently manage time and work effectively across different actions, departments, and time zones.
  • Be able to develop a courteous & professional relationship with clients, co-workers, and sub-contractors (must be a team player).
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently without prompting.
  • Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends with varying workloads and deadlines.
  • Have Technical degree or certification.
  • Show experience of having attended manufacture training classes for IT or Security Systems (any product / manufacture will qualify).
  • Be able to pass background check.
