IT Field Technician

Just Salad is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and technically skilled professional with a strong ability to problem-solve and a passion for continuous learning. The IT Technician will report to the Director of IT and serve as a key resource for all IT-related queries across 120+ locations (NYC, FL, CHI, NJ, PA) and Corporate (100+ members). This role spans traditional IT support, cybersecurity practices, and emerging AI-powered tooling. In line with Just Salad’s mission to make everyday health and sustainability possible, you will also support initiatives to reduce Just Salad’s environmental footprint.

Responsibilities IT Infrastructure & Support

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components to ensure optimal usability across all sites

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on Windows and Mac environments

• Proactively upgrade systems and monitor performance to sustain 99%+ uptime across all machines

• Adhere to electrical safety standards and maintain disciplined cable management at all locations

• Repair or replace damaged hardware efficiently to minimize operational downtime

• Execute new store installations across multiple markets, including network setup and device provisioning

• Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for knowledge base development

Help Desk & Ticketing (Freshservice)

• Manage and resolve IT Help Desk tickets through Freshservice in a process-oriented, SLA-compliant manner

• Triage, categorize, and prioritize incoming requests; escalate complex issues appropriately

• Maintain clear, timely communication with end users throughout the ticket lifecycle

• Identify recurring issues and proactively propose permanent solutions to reduce ticket volume

IT Cybersecurity

• Support implementation and enforcement of cybersecurity policies across all locations and corporate users

• Monitor systems for security vulnerabilities, suspicious activity, and policy violations

• Assist with endpoint protection, access control, and user security awareness initiatives

• Participate in security audits, risk assessments, and incident response procedures

• Maintain compliance with data protection standards and internal IT security protocols

AI Integrations & Emerging Technology

• Assist in the evaluation, deployment, and support of AI-powered tools and automations across business operations

• Collaborate with the IT Director to integrate AI solutions into existing workflows (e.g., helpdesk automation, predictive maintenance, operations tooling)

• Monitor and maintain AI integration performance, flagging anomalies or inefficiencies

Reporting & Analytics

• Generate and distribute regular IT performance reports including ticket trends, uptime metrics, hardware inventory, and SLA compliance

• Build and maintain dashboards within Freshservice and other platforms to provide real-time visibility into IT operations

• Analyze data to identify operational gaps and present findings with actionable recommendations to the Director of IT

Tools & Technologies

Experience with the following is preferred. These reflect the core systems and platforms in use at Just Salad; comparable experience is welcome, with a willingness to learn our stack.

• Endpoints & Operating Systems: Windows and macOS administration, imaging, and troubleshooting

• Endpoint Management (RMM/MDM): Datto RMM for remote monitoring and management; Mobile Device Management (MDM) via IRU

• Help Desk / ITSM: Freshservice (ticketing, workflows, SLA reporting)

• Toast POS: point-of-sale hardware and software (deployed across all locations)

• Networking: Cisco Meraki (firewalls, access points, switches), VPN configuration; Cisco networking and CCNA a plus

• Physical Security: Verkada cameras (video surveillance and access control)

• Identity & Security: Bitwarden password management, endpoint protection, access control, and multi-factor authentication

• Productivity & Collaboration: Google Workspace / Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs), Google Admin console, and Microsoft 365

• AI Tools: Claude AI, Gemini (corporate AI suite), and Fofana (internal AI data assistant)

• Digital & Delivery: Store-level support for 1P Digital ordering (order.justsalad.com) and Otter (third-party delivery aggregation)

• Hardware & Peripherals: Receipt/label printers, kitchen display systems, cabling, and device provisioning

• Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred)

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in computer networks, systems maintenance, or IT support

• Hands-on experience with Freshservice or a comparable ITSM/help desk platform

• Familiarity with cybersecurity fundamentals (endpoint security, access management, threat monitoring)

• Exposure to AI tools, automation platforms, or IT integrations is a strong plus

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) accreditation is advantageous

• Proficiency in software installation, database basics, and systems administration

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities with a willingness to learn

• Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus, but not required

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

• Willingness to travel 70% of the time; weekend on-call availability may be required and software components to ensure optimal usability across all sites

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on Windows and Mac environments

• Annual Salary $69,000 - $72,000 - Salary dependent on experience. Eligible to participate in the corporate bonus program
