Senior IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) Technical Architect

The Senior MAS Technical Architect will serve as a technical authority responsible for MAS architecture, platform engineering, enterprise integrations, application configuration, automation, reporting, security integrations, and operational reliability. The successful candidate will work closely with NASA leadership, enterprise architects, cybersecurity teams, vendors, and cross-functional technical teams to ensure a secure, scalable, and high-performing Maximo environment.

This position requires deep technical expertise in IBM Maximo Application Suite, Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), REST API integrations, Linux environments, automation scripting, enterprise reporting, Maximo Mobile, and containerized application deployments.

Key ResponsibilitiesIBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) Architecture & Administration

• Lead installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management activities for IBM Maximo Application Suite environments.
• Provide technical leadership for enterprise MAS deployments supporting multiple organizations, sites, and operational teams.
• Develop and maintain MAS configurations across development, test, and production environments.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization of Maximo applications and integrations.
• Support Maximo Mobile implementations, including authentication and enterprise deployment requirements.
• Configure Maximo Mobile applications using the Maximo Application Framework (MAF) Configuration application.

Enterprise Integration & API Engineering

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise integration architectures supporting NASA systems and applications.
• Provide advanced expertise with the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), including REST API integrations.
• Design secure API management, authentication, monitoring, and error-handling strategies.
• Define integration message structures, interface standards, logging requirements, and operational monitoring processes.
• Develop and maintain integrations using technologies including REST, JSON, XML, and related frameworks.

Automation & Application Development

• Develop advanced Maximo automation scripts and configuration solutions using:
• Python
• JavaScript
• XML
• JSON
• Design and maintain scripting solutions supporting enterprise MAS environments.
• Automate administrative and operational processes to improve reliability and efficiency.

Reporting & Business Intelligence

• Develop and support enterprise reporting solutions using:
• BIRT Reporting
• Microsoft Power BI
• Support multi-organization and multi-site reporting environments.
• Implement data segregation controls utilizing Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Perform data modeling and analysis to support enterprise Business Intelligence requirements.

Infrastructure, Security & Platform Support

• Provide advanced Linux administration, troubleshooting, scripting, and performance management.
• Support MAS deployments hosted within containerized environments.
• Apply working knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and enterprise Kubernetes concepts.
• Support Maximo user synchronization with Microsoft Entra ID and enterprise identity platforms.
• Support secure authentication and Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations.

Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

• Prepare and present technical information to executive leadership, project teams, and NASA stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations related to enterprise Maximo architecture and modernization.
• Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity personnel, and vendors.
• Manage technical issues using Jira Service Management or comparable enterprise ticketing platforms.

This role requires a proven IBM Maximo professional with extensive experience designing, implementing, integrating, and supporting complex enterprise Maximo Application Suite (MAS) environments., * Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline.

• 8+ years of hands-on IBM Maximo technical engineering experience.
• Demonstrated expertise with:
• IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS)
• Maximo architecture
• Maximo Integration Framework (MIF)
• REST API integrations
• Automation scripting
• Enterprise application configuration
• Experience with IBM Maximo Application Suite installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced Linux experience including scripting, system operations, troubleshooting, and performance management.
• Experience supporting enterprise reporting solutions including BIRT, Power BI, or similar BI platforms.
• Experience with data modeling and enterprise reporting requirements.
• Experience developing automation scripts using Python, JavaScript, XML, and JSON.
• Experience supporting Maximo Mobile, MAF configuration, and SSO implementations.
• Experience with secure API management and authentication frameworks.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications in containerized environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with technical teams and executive stakeholders.
• Experience using Jira Service Management or similar enterprise service management platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting NASA, aerospace, Department of Defense, or other federal enterprise Maximo environments.
• Experience designing and maintaining enterprise-level integration architectures.
• Experience with IBM TRIRIGA and/or Maximo Real Estate and Facilities (MREF).
• IBM Maximo certifications, including:
• IBM Certified Deployment Professional
• IBM Certified Administrator
• Experience supporting MAS licensing models, user synchronization, and large-scale enterprise deployments.
• Experience with MAS performance tuning, high availability configurations, and production environment optimization.
• Experience with enterprise identity management, cybersecurity controls, and regulated environments., * Are you able to obtain and hold a Security Clearance?
