Job description
As a Data Center Technician I, you’ll be the first line of defense, keeping our air-cooled Bitcoin mining infrastructure running at peak performance. Your day-to-day will include performing inspections, monitoring, and maintaining ASIC miners, as well as operating the mechanical systems that power our adiabatic water wall cooling platform. You’ll receive direct mentorship from senior operators and grow quickly in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
On-site training is provided. No prior data center experience required, just the right attitude and aptitude.
This role will provide per diem pay in addition to the hourly rate.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily walkthroughs and inspections of data center infrastructure
- Monitor and maintain Bitcoin ASIC mining hardware for optimal uptime and hash rate performance
- Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, and cooling system issues with guidance from senior staff
- Operate and maintain fans, evaporative media, water distribution systems, and controls associated with the adiabatic water wall cooling system
- Install and manage power connections and network cables for mining hardware
- Follow established SOPs and contribute ideas for process improvement
- Track and record work performed with meticulous attention to detail
- Complete accurate shift reports
Requirements
Do you have experience in Microsoft Excel?, * Computer literacy: Basic Excel/Sheets, email, monitoring systems, and ticketing systems
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully and execute with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication
- Self-starter attitude with eagerness to learn and grow
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs of mining hardware and related equipment
- Must be able to reliably commute to sites ~30min-1hr outside Midland, TX, or relocate before start date
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
