Business Relations Mgr III / IV - Information Technology Division

As the IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM), you will be the focal point for business leadership teams, working hand-in-hand with our district and division partners to identify cutting-edge technology solutions that propel their goals and mission forward., Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with agency leaders to understand their needs and align IT initiatives with their objectives.

A dynamic and supportive work environment Opportunities for professional growth and development The chance to make a significant impact on the agency’s success, The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) serves as the primary point of focus between business units and technical professionals for the Information Technology Division’s (ITD) applications, security, privacy, vendor management, infrastructure and operations sections. Coordinates information services and projects that add business value and minimize business disruption. Reports to the Section Director or Branch Manager. Work involves assisting with the development of technical strategies and coordination of information technology activities while coordinating the planning, budgeting, initiation, and oversight of projects. Work requires contact with all levels of agency management and government officials. and private entities. Employees at this level may establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives.

Essential Duties: BRM III and IV

• Acts as the primary point of focus between the districts and division and ITD for strategy, delivery, and operations.
• Aids divisions and districts in defining business requirements.
• Assists in the design and implementation of strategic solutions.
• Develops product roadmaps.
• Works closely with IT teams to make recommendations for ITD processes associated with software technology planning, development and implementation.
• May be accountable for development, coordination of or providing advice on metrics, processes, audits and root cause
• analyses.
• Develops criteria for evaluating programs, proposals and other pertinent information related to project assignments.
• Oversees the troubleshooting and analysis of technical problems associated with local applications.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned., * Monitoring and evaluating progress on work assignments, customer commitments, processes etc., to ensure timely and successful completion of assigned task
• Analyzing issues, facts and available information to develop logical solutions; researching inconsistencies of facts or data; drawing correct inferences from information and making recommendations that support business decisions

• Leading, assigning, reviewing and monitoring the work of others
• Communicating technical information effectively and negotiating requests to align with the goals of TxDOT

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
• Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
• Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools

(Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

BRM IV Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications Experience: 6 years of experience in business systems analysis and design, project management or info technology management. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Business Relationship Management (BRM) Professional certification (e.g., BRMP or CBRM)
• Ability to develop and deliver clear, concise technical communications for non-technical and executive audiences, translating complex concepts into actionable and easily understood messaging.
• Experience in Organizational Change Management (OCM), including supporting change adoption through stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and alignment with business objectives., * Communicate effectively
• Methods and equipment used in information systems support and maintenance
• Developing IT strategies based on business goals and objectives
• Exercises logic and reasoning to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; makes decisions that support business objectives and goals
