Network and Telcom Field Technician - Rochester Area

The Technician will be directly responsible for providing preventive maintenance and ongoing repairs to Correctional Facility Telephones, Call processing systems, computer workstations and various types of interactive Kiosks and personal computing Tablets. The Technician’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Installation and repair of telephones

· Install, move, remove and maintain customer premise wiring/cable

· Facility station wiring and system hardware maintenance

· Call processing network maintenance and repair

· Quality control and preventive maintenance procedures

· Kiosk installation, maintenance and repair

· Cash collections on Lobby Kiosk

· Working to resolve II’s tablet issues

· Able to respond to a system emergency 24/7

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Twisted pair cables handling?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, · Must be able to use telephone or electrical test instruments to determine inside wire or fiber defects

· Identify and terminate cable color codes

· Possess, utilize and transport telephony tools and equipment to corrections facilities

· Basic computer skills for setup/troubleshooting

· Must have a High School diploma

· 3 or more years’ experience in networking, telephony and Wi-Fi network systems

· Must have valid driver license with acceptable driving record

· Must have a vehicle in good running condition

· Must provide proof of minimum required levels of auto insurance coverage

· Must pass and maintain security background checks

· Able to work in a high security prison environment with interaction with inmates

· Must have good communications skills; able to work independently at multiple sites

· Able to interact with Corrections Officials, Wardens and other Managers
