Job description
NCT Technologies Group is seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance Technician to support inspection, auditing, and process verification activities across our metal fabrication operations. This role is ideal for an individual with manufacturing quality experience who enjoys working directly with production teams to ensure fabricated metal components meet customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements.
This position supports a fast-paced manufacturing environment involving laser cutting, CNC press brake forming, welding, powder coating, machining, and assembly operations. The Quality Assurance Technician will work closely with Quality Engineers, Production Supervisors, and Manufacturing Teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain customer satisfaction through effective quality control practices., * Perform dimensional inspections on fabricated metal components using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, and other precision measurement equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T requirements to verify product conformance.
- Ensure all manufacturing job travelers and quality documentation are complete and accurate throughout production.
- Conduct first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections on production and prototype parts.
- Perform layered process audits and dock audits to verify manufacturing and quality procedures are being followed.
- Inspect and approve finished products for quality, packaging, labeling, and shipment requirements.
- Support customer quality requirements including PPAP submissions, corrective actions, and customer response activities.
- Lead containment and investigation activities related to quality rejects or nonconforming products.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation to improve manufacturing processes and reduce defects.
- Create, review, and maintain quality alerts, inspection records, nonconformance reports, and associated quality documentation.
- Support calibration management and oversight of inspection equipment.
- Assist with internal audits and Quality Management System implementation initiatives.
- Work closely with production personnel to clarify inspection standards and improve process consistency.
- Support prototype development activities from design review through production and shipment.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Spreadsheets?, * 1-2 years of quality inspection or quality assurance experience within a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T callouts.
- Hands-on experience using precision measurement instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting cross-functional teams.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel and quality documentation systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality standards., * Experience within sheet metal fabrication, welding, machining, or powder coating environments.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience with PPAP documentation and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Familiarity with CMM inspection equipment and inspection software.
- Experience performing root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, SolidWorks, or inspection software platforms.

Pay Range
$24.00 - $28.00/hr based on experience
