Job description
Reporting to the BMS Bureau Manager the ‘BMS Bureau Engineer’ role will be responsible for providing solutions to reactive BMS issues, implementing energy efficiency software and standards, providing BMS technical assistance to both skilled and non-skilled engineers and customers. All of this whilst remaining innovative with an agile approach to the implementation and use of BMS products across our customer base
What will you deliver?
- Remotely manage multiple BMS types for various customers.
- Perform excess energy investigations when needed.
- Be able to understand multiple BMS types.
- Be able to make changes to software when needed on multiple system types.
- Provide training/assistance to on site staff.
- Drive efficiency and change within large customer portfolios.
- To interface into the Smart Buildings team and maintain cohesion between remote work and site works.
- Adhere to customer specification for HVAC plant and other(s) equipment.
- Liaise with the customers to ensure correct operation of BMS.
- Keep accurate records work carried out, reactive or otherwise.
- Generate reports on multiple control systems for the purpose of analysis by us or customer.
- Integrating third party systems.
Requirements
- Degree level or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Experience of at least one of the following systems and Tridium Niagara 4 will be required. Trend, Siemens.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of control strategy and implementation.
- Ability to analyse control systems for faults or improvements.
- Good understanding of HVAC systems on their own and as part of a BMS.
- To understand the wider Smart Buildings business and help integrate their product and technology into the entire unit.
- Technical expertise, official training within BMS industry (BCIA and/or manufacturer’s courses).
- Full knowledge of information technology, Microsoft projects, Windows, spreadsheets, keyboard skills, etc.
