Job description

You will support a varied client base, take ownership of technical issues and work across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows, networking, servers and cloud services.

This role is suitable for someone building their IT career, as well as an established Service Desk Technician looking for greater variety and technical exposure.

What you will be doing

  • Providing technical support by telephone, email and remote support tools
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, Microsoft 365 and networking issues
  • Managing user accounts, access, permissions and password requests
  • Investigating faults across desktops, laptops, servers and cloud services
  • Taking ownership of tickets from initial contact through to resolution
  • Keeping clients informed with clear and professional updates
  • Escalating complex issues with accurate information
  • Supporting backup, security and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Maintaining detailed ticket notes and technical documentation
  • Working closely with senior engineers and the wider service team

You do not need to be an expert in every area. We are interested in your ability to investigate problems, communicate clearly and continue developing your technical knowledge.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in an IT support, helpdesk or service desk role
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • The confidence to take ownership of technical issues
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • A professional and customer-focused approach
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage several priorities effectively
  • A positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Previous experience within a managed service provider would be beneficial, but it is not essential.

A full, clean UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle insured for business use are required. Business mileage will be paid at the applicable HMRC rate., * IT: 1 year (preferred)
