WordPress Developer

Cognizant is looking for a wordpress consultant. The role requires over 9 years, between ten and twelve years of experience and involves working in a hybrid model during day shifts while collaborating with global stakeholders to deliver high-quality hi-tech solutions that create measurable client value.

WordPress multisite architecture and operations

Enterprise security vulnerability management

Plugin lifecycle management governance

Primary technical ownership not execution only support

Experience with AI assisted development tools eg Claude Copilot

Ability to work alongside existing developers as needed

Required Qualifications

· 9+ years of Web development with advanced coding skills in WordPress and in programming languages including PHP, HTML/CSS.

· 9+ years of Web development with advanced coding skills in WordPress and in programming languages including PHP, HTML/CSS.

· Must have: Plain JS, WordPress, Webpack, NPM, composer, Phpunit, PHPCS

· Nice to Have: VueJS, React, Backbone, Docker

· Experience with object-oriented design and data modeling.

· Experience managing source control via GIT, SVN or other source code management system.

· Experience managing WordPress application deployments between server environments (Dev, QA, Stage, Production)

· Experience integrating open source and third-party applications into existing systems.

· Excellent verbal/written communication skills

Experience in web application security considerations and best practices

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000/Year to $138,000/Year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
