Job description

A Junior Data Center Technician supports the operation, maintenance, and security of data

center infrastructure while also providing desktop, A/V, CCTV, and access control support.

This role is ideal for candidates with foundational IT experience who are ready to take on more

complex hardware tasks, structured troubleshooting, and userfacing support. Technicians

collaborate with senior engineers to maintain uptime, security, and efficiency across servers,

storage, network systems, workplace technology, and physical security systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Hardware Support - Install, configure, and replace servers, storage
  • devices, and network hardware with minimal supervision.
  • Tier1/Tier2 Troubleshooting - Diagnose hardware issues, perform component swaps,
  • and escalate deeper problems with detailed notes.
  • Structured Cabling - Run, terminate, fuse, test, and document copper and fiber cabling
  • following industry standards.
  • Change Execution - Perform maintenance tasks, upgrades, migrations, and patching
  • according to changemanagement request procedures.
  • Asset & Inventory Management - Maintain accurate records of equipment lifecycle,
  • spares, and consumables.
  • Documentation - Update diagrams, logs, and configuration records to support
  • operational accuracy.

A/V, Desktop, CCTV & Access Control Responsibilities

  • Desktop Support - Install, configure, and troubleshoot workstations, peripherals,
  • printers, and endpoint software.
  • A/V Setup & Troubleshooting - Support conference rooms, video conferencing
  • systems, projectors, microphones, and digital signage.
  • User Support - Assist employees with hardware issues, login problems, and basic
  • application support.
  • Hardware Imaging - Prepare and deploy desktops/laptops using standard imaging
  • tools.
  • CCTV Support - Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot security camera systems,
  • NVRs/DVRs, and camera connectivity.
  • Access Control Support - Assist with badge systems, door controllers, card readers,
  • and physical access troubleshooting.
  • Security Compliance - Enforce physical access rules, escort visitors, and support audit

Requirements

Do you have experience in Video surveillance?, * Technical Knowledge - Understanding of servers, networking fundamentals, storage

  • concepts, and hardware components.
  • HandsOn Proficiency - Skilled with tools, cable testers, and hardware installation
  • procedures. Fluke DSX and EXFO Bert Tester experience is a Plus.
  • ProblemSolving - Ability to diagnose issues methodically and communicate findings
  • clearly.
  • Operating System Basics - Familiarity with Linux or Windows CLI for basic checks
  • and tasks.
  • Desktop Support Knowledge - Understanding of Windows/macOS troubleshooting,
  • imaging, and peripheral setup.
  • A/V Fundamentals - Basic understanding of conferencing systems,
  • HDMI/DisplayPort, and audio hardware.
  • CCTV & Access Control Basics - Understanding of camera systems, badge readers,
  • and door controllers.
  • Physical Capability - Lift 50lbs, walk or stand for extended periods.
  • Experience - 1-2 years in IT support, NOC, help desk, or data center operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA Network+, Server+, or vendorspecific certifications.
  • Experience with ticketing systems
  • Familiarity with fiber optics, PDUs, and remote management tools such as AnyDesk.
  • Exposure to virtualization (VMware, HyperV) or cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Alpeta, Milestone, or similar security platforms.
