Job description

  • Support production applications in IBM mainframe and midrange computing environments.
  • Create, schedule, execute, monitor, and troubleshoot production jobs using Control-M.
  • Support COBOL applications and promote source code, JCL, PROCS, and control statements using Endevor.
  • Monitor production workloads and resolve job failures or production issues.
  • Manage and update incident tickets using Cherwell or similar IT service management tools.
  • Coordinate mainframe console operations, device assignments, and operator responses.
  • Execute production jobs according to established schedules while maintaining operational standards.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain operational and procedural documentation.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, team presentations, and collaborative training activities.
  • Work in a fast-paced 24x7x365 production support environment with rotating shifts as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of IBM Mainframe Operations and Production Control experience within the last five years.
  • Hands-on experience with Control-M for job scheduling, monitoring, ordering, holding, submitting, and cancelling production jobs.
  • Experience using Endevor for source code management and promotion of COBOL programs, JCL, PROCS, and control statements.
  • Experience working in a data center environment managing incidents using Cherwell or similar ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of COBOL production support, JCL, Mainframe PROCS, and production operations.
  • Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production support environment.
  • Preferred: Experience operating high-speed commercial printers (e.g., Canon varioPRINT 6220 TITAN MICR) for large-volume printing.
  • Must be flexible to work day, swing, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts in a hybrid 24x7x365 support environment.
