Job description
The successful candidate Analyst will work under the Director of Technical Affairs and is responsible for leading zoning and code compliance efforts across a range of projects. This role requires deep knowledge of municipal zoning ordinances, building codes, and permitting processes, along with the ability to manage project workflows and interface directly with clients and regulatory agencies., * Analyze zoning ordinances and building codes to determine project feasibility and compliance.
- Prepare detailed zoning analyses, due diligence reports, and compliance summaries.
- Review and mark up architectural plans for code and zoning compliance and readiness for submission to regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and developers to resolve code and zoning issues.
- Interface with municipal agencies, including Departments of Buildings (DOB), zoning boards, and planning departments.
- Interpret regulations and provide strategic guidance to clients.
- Review plans and applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Support permitting and approvals by responding to agency comments and objections.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical oversight and quality control.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in zoning analysis, code consulting, or permit expediting.
- Strong knowledge of the NYC Zoning Resolution and NYC Construction Codes (including Building Code and Energy Code)
- Experience working with municipal agencies and filing processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam
- Working knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC) and NFPA standards
- Familiarity with zoning and permitting processes in jurisdictions outside of NYC
- Ability to research and synthesize planning and zoning requirements from agencies across multiple jurisdictions
- Collaborative team player, but also able to drive initiatives independently.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, utilizing industry standard vocabulary.
- This is a fulltime position, Monday - Friday with the schedule being 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am -5pm

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
