Job description
- Help write and optimize in-application SQL statements.
- Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
- Prepare documentations and specifications.
- Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
- Profile server resource usage and optimize and tweak as necessary.
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
- Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors. Protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access.
- Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss.
- Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance. Suggesting changes and improvements for database maintenance or protection.
- Regularly liaising with IT project managers and database programmers.
- Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in SQL database administration
- Bachelor’s degree, Seeking an experienced technically skilled Database Administrator with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in SQL database administration. In this role, the DBA will be the respondent to database problems that arise and carry out periodic maintenance and troubleshooting., * Experience with some of the modern relational databases
- Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements
- Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases
- Capable of configuring popular database engines and orchestrating clusters as necessary
- Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
- Capable of troubleshooting common database issues
- Familiar with tools that can aid with profiling server resource usage and optimizing
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GitLab
- Familiar with SISS packages
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years Windows 10
- 3-5 years SQL Server 2008 & higher
- 3-5 years SQL
- Good verbal communication skills
- Server OS 2008 / 2012 preferred
