PositionEnvíe su CV y cualquier información adicional requerida después de haber leído esta descripción, haciendo clic en el botón de solicitud.Research Engineer, specialised in web front?end development (RE2) at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC?CNS).About BSCBSC?CNS is the leading supercomputing centre in Spain, hosting MareNostrum and the EuroHPC JU.The mission is to research, develop and manage IT to facilitate scientific progress.With over ** staff from 60 countries, BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D across life, earth and engineering sciences.Context and MissionThe Machine Learning for Biomedical Research Unit and the Technologies for Biomedical Research Lab (TechBioLab) are developing the online biomedical portal for the SEED?ALS project (PMPER**), aggregating multi?omics data on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.The Project requires a Research Engineer specialised in web front?end development.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement a web?based portal for browsing biomedical datasets from external repositories and archives.Enable interactive visualization and navigation of analysis results and predictive models.Facilitate access to the European Genome?Phenome Archive (EGA) for dataset submission and controlled?access data download by researchers.Key DutiesDevelop the SEED?ALS data portal, including front?end and back?end components, following the project visual identity.Integrate data access and query functionalities with biomedical resources such as EGA, Monarch, BioGRID and other ALS sources.Implement data visualization tools for summary statistics and machine learning model results.Ensure portal usability, scalability, and security adhering to best practices.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including bioinformaticians, data scientists, and software engineers.Contribute to technical documentation and, where applicable, scientific dissemination.Communicate and present results to internal teams and external scientific audiences.RequirementsEducation:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Software Engineering, Web and App Development or a related field.Essential knowledge and experience:At least 1.5 years of professional experience in a similar role.Proficiency in modern web development frameworks (React, Angular, Next.js).Experience with back?end development (Node.js, Django, Flask, FastAPI).Experience with REST APIs and database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL).Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript and/or TypeScript.Experience with data and graph visualization libraries (D3.js, Plotly, vis.js, react?force?graph).Basic understanding of bioinformatics data formats (VCF, FASTQ, BAM).Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.Additional knowledge and experience:Knowledge of biomedical data repositories, especially EGA and Monarch.Interest or background in ALS or multi?omics data.Interest in multilayer network graph based approaches.Experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English.Competencies:Good communication and presentation skills.Ability to work independently and within a team.Excellent problem?solving and analytical skills.ConditionsLocation: BSC, Life Sciences Department.Contract: Full?time (35 h / week), open?ended due to project duration.Benefits: Flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, relocation support.Annual leave: 22 days of holidays + 6 personal days + holidays on *** December as per collective agreement.Salary: Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and Barcelona cost of living.Starting date: ****.Equal Opportunity EmployerBSC?CNS is an equal?opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.xcskxlj We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected basis.#J-***-Ljbffr

Requirements
