Job description
Job Description: The GIS Governance Coordinator will establish and manage enterprise GIS governance practices, leading initiatives around inventory, data lifecycle governance, and workforce skills standardization. You’ll drive cross department collaboration to ensure consistent governance adoption, develop reports and briefings for leadership committees, and support strategic GIS planning and continuous improvement. You should bring solid experience in GIS principles, data management, metadata, data quality, and enterprise GIS environments, with a proven ability to coordinate cross functional teams and communicate technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
Requirements
- Expertise with Esri tools, enterprise geodatabases, and spatial data services
- Strong data governance knowledge: stewardship, lifecycle management, metadata, data quality
- Proven project management with stakeholder engagement and cross functional coordination
- Skills in research, workflow documentation, process design, and governance document creation
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting to leadership and governance groups
