Job description
The Junior Systems & Solutions Engineer serves as the bridge between our Network Operations Center (NOC) and Systems & Solutions Engineering team. You’ll provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support while assisting with the planning, implementation, deployment, documentation, and support of engineering projects across our managed services portfolio.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of technologies while developing engineering, project delivery, and solution implementation skills alongside experienced technical professionals.
What You’ll Do
As a Junior Systems & Solutions Engineer, you’ll work on a variety of client projects while supporting complex technical environments.
Engineering Project Delivery
- Assist with planning, implementing, testing, and documenting engineering projects.
- Deploy and upgrade Windows Server environments.
- Perform Microsoft 365 migrations and tenant implementations.
- Deploy Microsoft Intune and endpoint management solutions.
- Assist with Microsoft Azure implementations and cloud projects.
- Configure and deploy firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, and networking equipment.
- Support workstation deployments and technology refresh initiatives.
- Participate in client onboarding, office relocations, and technology standardization projects.
- Assist Systems & Solutions Engineers throughout all phases of project delivery, including planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and project closeout.
Tier 2 & Tier 3 Technical Support
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for managed service clients.
- Resolve technical escalations received from the NOC.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving Microsoft 365, Windows Server, networking, virtualization, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and business applications.
- Participate in root cause analysis and long-term problem resolution.
- Support complex client environments and engineering initiatives.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and the rotating on-call schedule.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Develop implementation guides and deployment documentation.
- Contribute to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical standards.
- Document engineering projects, infrastructure changes, and implementation activities.
- Recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and service quality.

Requirements
We’re seeking a Junior Systems & Solutions Engineer (Tier 2/3) to join our growing engineering team. This is a mid-level engineering position for an experienced IT professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and wants to expand their skills beyond day-to-day support., * 3-5+ years of professional IT experience
- Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience providing Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 technical support
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
- Windows Server administration experience
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and switching
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to client locations
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Azure experience
- Microsoft Intune experience
- VMware and/or Hyper-V experience
- Firewall configuration (SonicWall preferred)
- ConnectWise Manage and ConnectWise Automate experience
- Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, or other industry certifications
