Job description

Seeking an experienced 911 Systems Consultant for a 12-month contract (likely extendable) to support mission-critical emergency response systems in Philadelphia. This role is primarily onsite at the city’s offices and involves providing technical support, operational oversight, and vendor management for essential 911 systems supporting the Philadelphia Police Department. You will ensure the reliability and performance of systems including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), 911 call handling, radio communication, and call logging across multiple city facilities. Key responsibilities include system maintenance, upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and contributing to the long-term technology planning. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, internal IT teams, vendors, and city leadership to uphold operational excellence and system integrity. You must be comfortable supporting after-hours incident resolution and managing complex technical environments to ensure uninterrupted emergency services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive technical experience supporting mission-critical systems in high-availability environments
  • At least 5 years managing complex IT systems, including CAD and related 911 technologies
  • Deep knowledge of system support, networking, security, disaster recovery, and system validation standards
