Job description

Our Client: A leader in the engineering, manufacturing, and installation of custom equipment and integrated systems is seeking a motivated and skilled Level 1 PLC and ACADE Controls Designer to join their innovative team. This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of control systems and automation, directly contributing to the development, design, and implementation of cutting-edge solutions. Situated in Holland, Michigan, this position is ideal for a professional eager to manage multiple programming projects, ensuring quality and efficiency in all aspects of their work., * Design and implement control systems and automation for custom equipment and integrated systems.

  • Write and develop PLC programs from scratch, utilizing various documentation such as sequence of operation, order acknowledge write-ups, ACADE wiring diagrams, and P&ID diagrams.
  • Read, interpret, and modify PLC code developed by others as necessary.
  • Design electrical controls systems for automated equipment, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Install and set up peripheral devices, maintaining optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate closely with the manager of the control systems engineering department, contributing to team goals and project success.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Word embeddings?, * Minimum three years of experience with the Allen-Bradley® family of PLCs.

  • 3+ years of experience in controls system design using ACADE.
  • Proficient in PLC programming, including experience with platforms other than Allen-Bradley®, such as Siemens, Automation Direct, Modicon (considered based on relevance and experience).
  • Solid understanding of AC/DC electrical systems and ability to read and interpret ACAD electrical drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft® Word, Excel, and Outlook®.
  • Willingness to travel overnight and on weekends, with customer site travel averaging around 30%.

Preferences:

  • Diverse experience with different PLC programming software and manufacturers’ HMI programming software.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC®) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA®) codes.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
  • A relevant degree or license in the electrical field is highly advantageous., * Do you have experience with designing control panels in a custom machine build setting in manufacturing?
