SSRS Developer

The SSRS Developer role in Harrisburg, PA involves developing, modifying, and maintaining SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports and database objects for complex enterprise databases. The developer will also create and maintain .Net Core MVC applications, ensure report performance tuning, and apply Agile development principles. This position requires collaboration with business users to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs, while adhering to organizational standards and best practices. Responsibilities:

• Develop new SSRS reports and database objects for SQL Server and Oracle databases.
• Modify and enhance existing SSRS reports and database objects as assigned.
• Create and maintain .Net Core MVC applications.
• Design relational and multidimensional databases and perform data modeling.
• Perform performance tuning to ensure quality and efficiency of SSRS reports.
• Test SSRS reports and database objects thoroughly prior to user testing.
• Apply Agile development principles in daily work.
• Collaborate with business users to gather and document requirements.
• Assist in designing reporting database solutions and configure report servers and security.
• Research new software release functionalities and assist in upgrade processes.
• Use Azure DevOps for project tracking and provide status updates and time estimates.
• Manage code repositories using GIT.
• Mentor team members on best practices, standards, and IT processes.
• Document all work for future reference.
• Independently execute assigned tasks and work assignments.
• Create, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build and deployment.

• 3-5 years of related work experience in SSRS development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study preferred.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft tools, especially SSRS and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL operations.
• In-depth knowledge of .Net Core, MVC, C#, dependency injection, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience handling large datasets and reporting from various data sources.
• Strong experience with Oracle databases and PL/SQL using SQL Developer.
• Strong experience with SQL Server databases and T-SQL using SQL Server Management Studio.
• Proficiency in data modeling and database design analysis.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Azure DevOps and GIT for version control and project management.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience creating and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Power BI report publishing and environment deployment.
• Mentoring and leadership skills within a technical team.

Special Considerations:

• Adherence to standards set by the Service Center and the Governor s Office of Administration.
• Ability to work independently and maintain best practices in development and documentation.

Scheduling:

• Regular shift from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
• Position duration is 12+ months with the possibility of extension.
