Job description
- Lead the planning and execution of enterprise Palo Alto firewall migrations, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum security.
- Migrate firewall policies, rules, and configurations to new infrastructure, maintaining connectivity and security standards.
- Validate firewall functionality, network connectivity, and security post-migration through rigorous testing.
- Collaborate closely with network engineering teams to support routing, switching, and security change initiatives.
- Troubleshoot complex firewall and network connectivity issues during implementation and deployment phases.
- Support change management processes, including documentation, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication.
- Maintain detailed documentation of firewall configurations, migration activities, and security procedures to ensure compliance and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, with a deep understanding of policies, NAT, security zones, and rule management.
- Successful track record of enterprise firewall refreshes and large-scale migration projects.
- Solid knowledge of routing and switching principles to support integrated network security.
- Experience working within production-grade, enterprise environments, demonstrating the ability to operate efficiently in high-stakes scenarios.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Familiarity with Cisco ASA firewalls and managing multi-vendor security environments.
- Prior experience supporting large enterprise firewall infrastructures.
- Knowledge of change-controlled, mission-critical production environments.
- Certifications such as Palo Alto PCNSE are highly desirable. CCNP Security, CCIE Security, or equivalent advanced certifications are a plus.
