Operational Database Specialist/General Engineer - NOAA

• Draft and update Standard Operating Procedures
• Draft data analyses and reports
• Provide daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports in clear, concise written English.

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) preferred and 5+ years of experience, * Excellent written and verbal English communication at levels from novice to expert.

• 4-year degree in Engineering (preferred)
• 5-7 years of experience in General Engineering
• Ability to function well as part of a team

Experienced with Microsoft Excel:

• Pivot tables
• Lookup tables
• Selection (dropdown) lists
• Ability to manipulate and export data

Experienced with Microsoft Access

• Develop and maintain relational tables
• Lookup tables
• Develop complex queries from multiple tables
• Normalize data to improve efficiency
• Scripting to create queries to update data and generate reports

Desired Experience:

• Scripting (Python, Perl)
• Functional knowledge of HTML, Javascript
• Experience with GIS
• General knowledge of telecommunications systems (VHF transmitters, receivers, antennas), electronics, mapping, topography, and database systems (Preferred)
