Job description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Communications Specialist to support senior leadership within a fast-paced engineering organization. This role is responsible for transforming complex technical initiatives, operational priorities, and organizational updates into clear, engaging, and actionable communications for a variety of internal audiences., Communication Development

  • Create executive presentations, leadership decks, and internal communication materials.
  • Develop organization-wide announcements, newsletters, FAQs, talking points, and summary documents.
  • Maintain and update internal communication resources and knowledge-sharing platforms.
  • Ensure messaging is accurate, concise, and tailored to the intended audience.

Executive & Leadership Communications

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop messaging for company meetings, strategic updates, and major initiatives.
  • Prepare presentation materials, executive summaries, and speaking points.
  • Provide communication guidance to help leaders effectively share information across the organization.

Strategic Messaging

  • Translate technical strategies, operational goals, and organizational changes into clear, consistent messaging.
  • Develop communication frameworks that reinforce key priorities across multiple channels.
  • Promote consistency in messaging across leadership teams and departments.

Change Management Communications

  • Support communication efforts related to organizational changes, process improvements, technology implementations, and project milestones.
  • Create structured communication plans that encourage understanding and adoption of new initiatives.
  • Reinforce key messages through multiple communication channels over time.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal communications, operations, HR, IT, and other business partners to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Adapt enterprise communications for technical audiences while accurately representing engineering initiatives to broader business teams.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a self-directed communications professional who is comfortable collaborating with executives, attending leadership meetings, and independently developing polished presentations, messaging, and communication materials. Success in this role requires exceptional writing skills, sound judgment, and the ability to simplify technical concepts into language that is easy to understand., Core Skills

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong editing and proofreading abilities.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent storytelling and presentation development skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Technical Proficiency

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft 365 applications, particularly PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience creating executive-level presentations using data and visual storytelling.
  • Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools is beneficial.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership within large or complex organizations.
  • Previous exposure to engineering, technology, manufacturing, or research-focused environments is preferred.
  • Experience supporting organizational change or transformation initiatives is a plus.
