Cash Application Specialist

This position will report onsite 3 days per week and will work from home 2 days per week. Looking to hire ASAP!

Responsibilities

• Accurately apply check and ACH payments to customer accounts
• Process daily cash receipts and deposits
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies in a timely manner
• Reconcile cash transactions and research outstanding reconciling items
• Prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP
• Review Accounts Receivable Aging reports and provide updates on outstanding balances
• Process authorized ACH direct debit transactions
• Communicate with internal departments and external customers to resolve payment issues
• Maintain accurate documentation to support audit and compliance requirements
• Assist with testing during system upgrades and process improvements

firstPRO is seeking a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join a growing organization’s Accounting & Finance team located in Conshohocken, PA on a hybrid basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with cash application and accounts receivable experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong cash application experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to accurately reconcile and resolve payment discrepancies while meeting deadlines., * Minimum of 2 years of direct cash application experience

• Experience processing ACH transactions
• Experience preparing journal entries in accordance with GAAP
• Experience reviewing and maintaining Accounts Receivable Aging reports
• Cash reconciliation experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent accounting experience will be considered
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a high-volume accounting environment
• Strong understanding of cash application and receivables processes
• Experience working with ERP or policy administration systems is a plus
