BIOS Data Centers Firmware Networking Hardware IP Addressing Linux System Administration Network Server

Job description

NVIDIA is seeking Level 2 Data Center Technicians (L2) to support production operations and large-scale infrastructure expansion within a high-performance data center environment. This is a hands-on technical role focused on true break/fix troubleshooting (L2) while also supporting deployment, rack & stack, and cabling work (L1 responsibilities). This is not a remote hands role-you’ll be expected to independently diagnose and resolve server and hardware issues while contributing to ongoing buildouts of cutting-edge AI infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform true L2 break/fix troubleshooting on servers (beyond simple part replacement)
  • Diagnose, isolate, and resolve hardware and system issues independently
  • Install, configure, and deploy servers and network equipment
  • Perform rack & stack and support data center buildouts
  • Run and manage structured cabling (Cat6 and fiber) including routing and rework
  • Update firmware and BIOS on production systems
  • Configure IP addresses, credentials, and system settings
  • Partner closely with network teams to support:
  • Cable routing and re-patching
  • Optics replacement
  • Port changes and connectivity issues
  • Support both live production environments and ongoing infrastructure scaling

Requirements

  • 2+ years of data center technician experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Data center operations
  • Rack & stack
  • Structured cabling (Cat5/Cat6/fiber)
  • Hardware installation and maintenance
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot server issues independently (L2 level)
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving root cause issues (break/fix)
  • Comfortable working in high-availability production environments
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience troubleshooting Linux-based systems
  • Ability to differentiate between logical vs physical failures
  • Exposure to liquid-cooled data center environments
  • Fiber optic experience (splicing, testing, or installation)
  • Data center construction or infrastructure build experience

Work Environment

  • Large-scale, high-performance data center
  • Combination of operations + deployment work
  • Fast-paced environment with high expectations for quality and uptime
  • Work on your feet for extended periods, with occasional lifting and physical work
