Job description

This Systems Administrator position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the reliability, performance, and availability of enterprise network, server, and virtualization environments in a secure federal setting. The role supports Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware vSphere/Horizon, and network monitoring tools while troubleshooting system issues, responding to alerts, and delivering exceptional customer support. Candidates should have extensive experience with Windows and VMware technologies, a Top Secret clearance, and a strong ability to implement and support IT infrastructure solutions both on-premises and in cloud environments.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and maintain enterprise servers and systems infrastructure
  • Administer Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and associated systems
  • Configure and maintain network monitoring systems
  • Perform system patching, updates, and maintenance
  • Manage user accounts and access controls
  • Implement backup and recovery procedures
  • Support virtual desktop infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues
  • Monitor system performance and security
  • Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Provide technical consultation and training
  • Manage asset inventory and licensing
  • Generate required systems reports and metrics

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of system administration experience
  • Minimum 6 years of system administration experience
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Strong experience with Microsoft server technologies
  • Expertise in system security implementation
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies
  • Experience with enterprise storage systems
  • Proficiency in backup and recovery procedures
  • Understanding of network protocols and architecture
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • CompTIA Network+ and/or Security+ certification
  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification

SALARY RANGE: $70,000.00 - $79,000.00

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:

  • The candidate’s professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include
