Job description
- Design, engineer, implement, and manage enterprise infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization, networking, cloud services, VoIP, backup systems, and core applications.
- Lead the planning, testing, deployment, integration, monitoring, and ongoing administration of the districtās networking infrastructure services.
- Engineer highly available, scalable, and secure networking solutions that support instructional and business operations.
- Design and maintain disaster recovery, backup, replication, and fault-tolerant systems to ensure business continuity.
- Monitor networking infrastructure performance, identify capacity needs, recommend upgrades, and implement improvements to maximize reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network, server, virtualization, cloud, VoIP, and systems integration issues while serving as the Tier III escalation point for technical staff.
- Develop, implement, and maintain infrastructure standards, change management processes, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, products, and industry best practices to improve district infrastructure.
- Participate in strategic planning for network, data center, and cloud initiatives while supporting long-term technology roadmaps.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to successfully deliver enterprise infrastructure projects.
- Perform computer forensics and data retrieval activities in response to legal, public records, and administrative requests.
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network and systems infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of physical, virtual, and cloud computing environments, including server virtualization technologies.
- Experience administering enterprise Windows and Linux operating systems, Active Directory, storage platforms, and directory services.
- Comprehensive understanding of enterprise networking, routing, switching, wireless technologies, VoIP, and systems integration.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, vulnerability mitigation, and infrastructure security best practices.
- Experience with enterprise backup, disaster recovery, replication, and business continuity planning.
- Ability to analyze networking infrastructure performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement scalable, resilient solutions.
- Experience with scripting or automation tools to improve operational efficiency and streamline infrastructure management.
- Strong technical documentation, project planning, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
