Job description

We are hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer in New Orleans to take ownership of our cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and server security. Technical Responsibilities

  • Write, test, and maintain Terraform modules to manage AWS infrastructure including VPCs, EC2 instances, ECS clusters, RDS databases, and S3 buckets.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate build steps, run automated test suites, and execute blue/green deployments.
  • Manage Docker container registries, optimize Dockerfiles to minimize image sizes, and configure AWS ECS tasks and service auto-scaling.
  • Set up system monitoring using Datadog and AWS CloudWatch, establishing alert rules for CPU usage, memory leaks, and HTTP error rates.
  • Audit AWS IAM roles, configure Security Groups, manage SSL/TLS certificates, and run automated vulnerability scans across application dependencies.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to infrastructure alerts, mitigate downtime, and implement permanent fixes., Submit a resume detailing your experience with AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. Qualified candidates will complete a 30-minute recruiter screening, a 60-minute technical interview reviewing past infrastructure projects, and a final conversation with our engineering director.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Systems Engineering roles supporting web applications.
  • 3+ years of direct experience writing Terraform for AWS cloud environments.
  • Solid experience running containerized applications using Docker and AWS ECS (Fargate or EC2 launch types).
  • Working knowledge of Bash and Python for scripting daily operational tasks and automation workflows.
  • Hands-on background configuring GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD for multi-environment deployments (Dev, Staging, Production).
  • Valid authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
