Job description
Pacer Data Center Solutions is hiring Data Center Rack & Stack Technicians to support white-space deployment, hardware installation, rack installation, cable routing, and equipment staging in data center environments. This role helps prepare the data hall for servers, network equipment, storage equipment, and supporting infrastructure. Technicians may install racks, cabinets, servers, switches, PDUs, patch panels, and related equipment while following detailed installation standards, labeling requirements, and quality procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Install racks, cabinets, shelves, PDUs, servers, and network equipment
- Follow rack elevation drawings, installation guides, and equipment plans
- Route, dress, label, and secure cabling as assigned
- Support equipment staging, inventory, movement, and installation
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in data hall environments
- Assist with patching, labeling, and basic connectivity tasks
- Follow strict quality, safety, and client installation standards
- Coordinate with cabling, network, electrical, and operations teams, * Active data center construction, mission-critical facility, industrial, or technical infrastructure environment
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods in active construction or facility environments
- May require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials, tools, equipment, ladders, cable, components, or job-site materials; specific lifting requirements vary by role and assignment
- May require bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead, climbing stairs or ladders, and working from scissor lifts, boom lifts, or other approved lift equipment when authorized
- May require working around active construction activities, moving equipment, elevated work areas, noise, dust, temperature changes, and other job-site conditions
- May require use of PPE, tools, and site-specific safety equipment
- May require overtime, weekends, nights, or rotating schedules depending on project needs
Requirements
- Data center, IT hardware, rack installation, cabling, or telecom experience preferred
- Ability to follow technical instructions and installation drawings
- Basic understanding of server racks, cabinets, PDUs, and network equipment
- Ability to lift equipment and work in active data center environments
- OSHA, lift, or data center experience preferred
- Ability to pass client onboarding requirements, which may include background check, drug screen, and site badging
Preferred Experience
- Experience with rack elevations, patching, labeling, hardware staging, and data hall standards
- Experience with IT asset handling or inventory processes
