Job description
Perform software certification engineering activities supporting commercial aircraft modification programs. Develop, review, and maintain software certification data, technical documentation, and software lifecycle processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards. Coordinate with suppliers, engineering teams, and regulatory authorities to support the certification and delivery of safe and reliable airborne software systems., * Generate Software Components (PDIs), User Modifiable Software (UMS), and Field Loadable Software in response to aircraft modification requests in compliance with DO-178B/C
- Review and approve supplier software lifecycle data, including software architecture, software design documents, and software requirements documentation throughout planning, development, verification, and certification phases
- Oversee the preparation and submission of technical documentation required for software certification
- Collaborate with regulatory representatives, suppliers, and global engineering sites to ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, and internal engineering standards
- Monitor project progress and engineering performance to ensure safety and certification milestones are achieved
- Develop, document, and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and system designs
- Lead the development, selection, tailoring, and deployment of engineering processes, tools, and metrics
- Participate in industry working groups to develop engineering guidance, standards, and internal design practice documentation
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and typically 5+ years of experience in an engineering classification
- 3+ years of experience with software development life cycles, configuration management, and Agile software engineering best practices
- 3+ years of experience developing, documenting, and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and software system designs
- 3+ years of experience leading software development projects
- Experience using configuration management processes
- Experience using Git or equivalent software version control tools
- Experience using Agile planning tools such as JIRA, GitLab, or similar
- Domain expertise in Interior Cabins, Seats, In-Flight Entertainment Systems, or Onboard Network Systems
- Experience with Aviation Standards DO-178C or DO-254
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Preferred Skills
- 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience
- 5+ years of experience as, or working with, a Designated Engineering Representative (DER), Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist, EASA/FAA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE), or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience across Software Lifecycle Data Items and software standards, including DO-330 and DO-331
- Current Designated Engineering Representative (DER), Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist, or Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE)
