Job description

Insight Global is looking to hire a Senior IT / Security Manager in Washington, DC. This individual will be the first internal IT hire responsible for owning the company’s IT environment, security posture, and SOC 2 readiness efforts. On a daily basis, they will oversee Microsoft 365 administration and security, support the migration from Google Workspace, and manage access control across the organization. They will partner closely with a third-party MSP to oversee infrastructure, escalate technical issues, and ensure proper vendor performance while handling lighter internal and client-facing IT needs. This person will also lead SOC 2 audit readiness, including coordinating with auditors, maintaining compliance documentation in Drata, and supporting quarterly audits post-certification. Additionally, they will evaluate and guide AI integration initiatives (currently using Claude) to determine how it fits within the company’s tech stack. This role reports into the CFO and works closely with operations leadership. This will be a hybrid on-site position requiring 2-3 days per week on-site in Washington DC. Total compensation for this role ranges from $140,000 to $160,000.

Requirements

3-6 years of experience in IT, systems administration, or security

  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365 (administration, security, and access control)
  • Exposure to SOC 2 compliance framework
  • Experience working with or managing third-party IT vendors (MSP)
  • Ability to operate independently as a standalone IT lead

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Experience leading or supporting a SOC 2 audit process end-to-end
  • Background in fintech, financial services, or regulated environments
  • Experience with tools like Drata or other compliance automation platforms
  • Exposure to AI tools (e.g., Claude) and evaluating enterprise use cases
  • Prior experience transitioning from an individual contributor into a leadership role
