Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Java Developer to join a fast-paced engineering team focused on building and enhancing scalable enterprise applications and services. This role requires a strong hands-on developer who can work independently, own features end-to-end, and contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle-including development, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java, Spring Batch, Spring Cloud, and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), with experience building and supporting cloud-native microservices in a production environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications and microservices.

Build and support batch processing solutions using Spring Batch.

Develop cloud-native services utilizing Spring Cloud and microservices architecture.

Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot applications running on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

Own features from design through deployment, including coding, testing, documentation, and production support.

Perform unit, integration, and system testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineering teams to define technical solutions and implementation plans.

Investigate and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks, and application defects.

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.

Participate in code reviews and drive improvements in application performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience as a Java Developer.

Strong hands-on experience with Spring Batch.

Strong experience with Spring Cloud and microservices-based architectures.

Experience deploying and supporting applications in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of deliverables.

Experience performing your own testing, troubleshooting, and technical documentation. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with messaging and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ).

Familiarity with API security and authentication mechanisms.

Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus.

Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments.
