Functional Genomics Scientist

The primary responsibilities of this role, Functional Genomics Scientist, are to:

• Deliver high-quality gene expression data within defined timelines, including qRT-PCR, RNA-seq, and custom assay development;
• Interpret complex project requirements and independently design scientifically robust functional genomics assays to meet research objectives;
• Develop and communicate clear, data-driven technical reports with well-founded conclusions and actionable recommendations for stakeholders and cross-functional partners;
• Serve as a subject matter expert and proactive problem solver, addressing technical challenges, providing technical guidance, and enabling project success across the pipeline;
• Contribute to functional genomics strategy, including workflow automation, evaluation of emerging technologies, and continuous improvement of pipeline capabilities;
• Collaborate effectively across teams and disciplines, demonstrating flexibility, strong partnership, and inclusive ways of working to advance project goals and deliver impactful innovations.

• PhD with relevant experience, or MS with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or BS with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a related scientific discipline;
• Hands-on laboratory experience with independent execution of gene expression assays and RNA sample extraction from diverse tissue types;
• Strong foundation in genomics, with the ability to design and execute assays, analyze data, and translate results into clear scientific conclusions and actionable recommendations;
• Demonstrated problem-solving capability, with the ability to provide technical guidance and influence stakeholders in a cross-functional environment;
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively across diverse, cross-functional teams and contribute to an inclusive, respectful workplace., * Hands-on experience with spatial or single-cell transcriptomics technologies;
• Experience working with automated laboratory equipment, such as liquid handling systems;
• Understanding of bioinformatics, IT systems, and data analysis or visualization tools;
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $78,640.00 - $117,960.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
