Job description
As a Technical Support Associate III, you will serve as a trusted technical leader responsible for maximizing the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical field-testing technologies and systems. In this role, you will combine deep technical expertise, data-driven decision-making, and collaborative leadership to solve complex challenges, improve operational resilience, and enable the delivery of high-quality data across global agricultural research operations.
You will be the expert others turn to when challenges are at their most complex - leading root cause investigations, driving reliability-centered solutions, and partnering with engineering, operations, and technology teams to develop scalable improvements that enhance efficiency, uptime, and user experience. Beyond solving immediate issues, you will help shape the future by mentoring technical colleagues, identifying systemic opportunities for improvement, and advancing innovations that strengthen our global field-testing capabilities.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the primary technical expert and final escalation point for critical or unprecedented equipment issues across the entire field-testing technology portfolio;

Develop advanced troubleshooting protocols and knowledge-based resources to improve first-level resolution rates across the support team;

Architect solutions for novel, cross-platform challenges that span hardware, software, and process domains, ensuring robust and scalable outcomes;

Demonstrate mastery across all equipment and systems in the portfolio, setting the standard for proper use and thorough upkeep by leading improvements to maintenance programs and coordinating with engineering on fleet-wide equipment enhancements to minimize downtime;

Evaluate new hardware and software prior to deployment, ensuring field readiness, supportability, and alignment with operational needs;

Collaborate closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to design and implement system-wide solutions-hardware, software, or process changes-that drive continuous innovation across the operation;

Facilitate collaboration across departments and global sites, acting as a liaison between technical operations, engineering, and management to ensure alignment on solutions and priorities;

Build and leverage dynamic networks across diverse global teams and local community partnerships to amplify the impact of operational improvements;
-
Assume team-leader responsibilities by helping manage team schedules, arranging support team training, and analyzing support ticket data to drive continuous improvement in service quality;

Mentor and coach Technical Support Associate I and II colleagues through on-the-job training and constructive feedback to elevate team-wide capability;
-
Champion impeccable safety, efficiency, and ethical integrity across all operations, proactively identifying systemic safety or quality risks and leading corrective actions across the fleet and network;
-
Travel up to 20% of the time, particularly during peak seasons, and work extended hours, including non-traditional daytime hours with overnight travel, as business needs require.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree;
-
Valid driver’s license;
-
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs;
-
Ability to obtain a pesticide applicator license;
-
Ability to obtain a UAV license (desired) for operating drones;
-
Ability to work extended hours during peak operational seasons, including non-traditional daytime hours with overnight travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5 years of work experience; OR Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience; OR PhD with relevant experience;

Knowledge and experience with agricultural equipment and row crop production practices, with a history of leveraging that knowledge in a research environment;
-
Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative, team-based environment;
-
Capability to pull, analyze, and maintain large data sets;
-
Basic understanding of and passion for emerging trends in agriculture;
-
Expertise standard MS Office applications and software systems used in scientific data analysis, with the ability to quickly learn new software programs and tools, and to utilize multiple analytics platforms to articulate observations and identify areas for improvement;

Experience in the seed technology industry or plant breeding;
-
Expertise with precision agriculture hardware and software;
-
Demonstrated capability for continuous improvement and innovation through participation in project teams.
Benefits & conditions
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $73,120.00 - $109,680.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
