Product Engineer / Engineering Data Analyst

Bill Of Materials Product Engineering Time Off Management Engineering Drawings Product Configuration New Product Development Artificial Intelligence Configuration Management Teamcenter (PLM Software) Engineering Design Process Product Lifecycle Management Enterprise Resource Planning, This role focuses on building and maintaining configurable product models by interpreting engineering drawings and bills of materials and entering detailed configuration data into Teamcenter. You will create and manage configuration rules, characteristics, and values across multiple product lines, ensuring that product structures are complete, accurate, and scalable. The position closely supports Research & Development and Product Engineering teams to define, standardize, and improve configuration processes that enable efficient, automated product selection., * Create and manage configuration rules, characteristics, and characteristic values for configurable products across multiple product lines.

• Build comprehensive 100% Bills of Material (Master BOMs) that include every possible option and variation of a product.
• Assign configuration rules to each BOM line item to drive automated selections for internal users.
• Interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials to accurately identify product options, structures, and configuration requirements.
• Input and maintain configuration characteristics and characteristic values in Teamcenter, such as dimensions and other product attributes (for example, side channel length with values like 8 ft, 10 ft, and 12 ft).
• Support Research & Development and Product Engineering teams in defining, refining, and scaling configuration processes.
• Maintain Teamcenter with accurate configuration data and product structures, ensuring consistency and data integrity.
• Help develop, document, and standardize configuration processes, including breaking products into reusable rule sets (“chunking”) to increase efficiency and reuse.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure configuration rules align with engineering intent and manufacturing capabilities.

Refining Chunking Visionary Leadership Innovation Scalability Detail Oriented Problem Solving Data Management, * Experience in configuration management for configurable products.

• Hands-on PLM configuration management experience, preferably with Teamcenter.
• ERP experience with Bill of Material creation, including experience using SAP.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• Strong attention to detail when creating and maintaining configuration rules, characteristics, and values.
• Ability to work with large volumes of configuration data across multiple product lines., * Experience working specifically with Teamcenter for product configuration and data management.
• Experience working with SAP for BOM creation and maintenance.
• Experience in supporting R&D and Product Engineering teams in process definition and improvement.
• Familiarity with developing standardized, reusable rule sets for configurable products.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to product structures and configuration logic., This is a full-time role with a standard 40-hour workweek. The typical start time falls between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., providing some flexibility within that window. You will work extensively with PLM tools such as Teamcenter and ERP systems such as SAP to manage configuration data and Bills of Material. The environment emphasizes structured processes, accurate data management, and close collaboration with engineering and product development teams. This is a Contract position based out of Grand Rapids, MI. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
