Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Systems Administrator to play a key role in supporting and optimizing the engineering technology ecosystem that drives product development. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering and information technology, improving processes, maintaining critical engineering systems, and ensuring product data is accurate, secure, and accessible.
In this role, you’ll help enhance engineering efficiency by administering Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and CAD systems while collaborating with engineering, IT, and cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, improve system performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and support engineering systems including Autodesk Vault Professional and Autodesk Fusion Manage.
- Maintain and optimize PDM, PLM, CAD, and related engineering applications.
- Support engineering change management processes, including document control, revision management, and bill of materials (BOM) management.
- Configure workflows, permissions, forms, and system settings to improve usability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the integrity, consistency, and governance of engineering and product data across enterprise systems.
- Support integrations between PLM, PDM, ERP, CAD, and other business applications.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate software upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to support engineering and business objectives.
- Train and support engineering users to maximize system adoption and best practices.
- Partner with Engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and system optimization.
- Assist with automation initiatives that improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience administering or supporting PDM, PLM, and/or CAD environments.
- Experience configuring and maintaining enterprise software applications.
- Strong understanding of:
- Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECO)
- Product Data Management (PDM)
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
- Bill of Materials (BOM) structures
- Document control and revision management
- Experience supporting cross-functional engineering and IT initiatives.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Autodesk Vault Professional and Autodesk Fusion Manage.
- Experience using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Experience with enterprise PLM/PDM platforms such as:
- Windchill
- Siemens Teamcenter
- ENOVIA
- SOLIDWORKS PDM
- Similar engineering data management solutions
- Experience with CoolOrange PowerJobs or comparable engineering automation tools.
- Experience with JavaScript and PowerShell for configuration, scripting, customization, and automation.
- Experience integrating engineering systems with ERP and CAD platforms.
- Experience with workflow automation and business process optimization.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Microsoft 365 applications, including Microsoft Office and Visio.
