Job description

We are seeking a skilled Technical Program Manager, Factory Planningprofessional with strong program management and technical planning skills to support the Fremont Factory Planning team in delivering New Product, Sustaining and People’s Spaces Programs. This role focuses on leading feasibility studies, coordinating test fits, stakeholder alignments and managing factory planning projects - from concept through to detailed planning and handoff for implementation. You will serve as a key program manager ensuring projects align with Tesla’s aggressive timelines, standards, and cross-functional needs., The ideal candidate is a multidisciplinary planner with 5-7 years of practical experience in Factory Space Planning, Manufacturing Line Layouts, Revit modeling, Feasibility Analysis, and delivering high-quality Planning Packages in a collaborative, dynamic, high-velocity environment. What You’ll Do

  • Lead and maintain the front-end space planning workflow and program processes for Factory development (New Products / Sustaining) projects
  • Manage multiple concurrent planning efforts for factory spaces from initial concept through detailed layout test fits and planning package delivery
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing and executing many projects and tasks in parallel
  • Collaborate on feasibility studies and support development of optimized test fits that meet operational, code, and design requirements
  • Translate design briefs, stakeholder requirements, and architectural constraints into detailed Revit models, Space Plans, and clear Presentations
  • Coordinate post-planning refinements, including basic model adjustments and package documentation to support downstream design and construction teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, facilities, production and facility operations, programs) to ensure program alignment, resolve conflicts, and drive timely decisions
  • Provide clear communications (written/verbal/presentations) to both working and executive level on Factory Planning projects/programs

Requirements

  • Degree in Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of professional experiencein Factory Space Planning. Understanding of material conveyance flow, manufacturing line layouts, workplace design, laydown planning or related fields is a plus
  • Strong technical proficiency in Revit(required for modeling, space planning, and documentation); proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Jira, Confluence and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to produce 2D models, test fits, and planning deliverables in Revit
  • Solid understanding of engineering disciplines, building codes, material conveyance, manufacturing operational standards, and people spaces
  • Track record of delivering integrated planning packages (e.g., Test Fits, Space Utilization Reports, Factory Layouts)
  • Exceptional program management skills: ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to align diverse teams and drive consensus

Expected Compensation $112,000 - $217,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
