Job description

Our National Security Team supports the intelligence community, providing, operating, and assuring critical voice, video, and collaboration services for the full spectrum of operations.

AT&T is seeking a highly skilled Network Management Systems (NMS) Lead to support a critical program within our National Security business segment. The NMS Lead Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert in network management systems, overseeing the implementation of large-scale enterprise network solutions and guiding the transition, testing, and evaluation of architectural network operations.

This leadership role requires deep technical expertise in the maintenance of servers, network devices, routers, switches, and security solutions. The NMS Lead will collaborate closely with both program and customer leadership to ensure all program requirements are met or exceeded within established timelines and budgets.

By championing best-in-class network technologies, tools, and processes, the NMS Lead will deliver enhanced network availability, resiliency, security, and operational efficiency through simplification and automation., * Lead the architecture, engineering, design, development, and deployment of Network Management Systems (NMS) in support of contract and government customer requirements.

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software solutions, emphasizing automation, comprehensive documentation, and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Gather and analyze software requirements, generate estimates, create detailed design specifications, and collaborate with engineers and architects to assess and validate hardware-software integrations.
  • Develop and execute automated test plans, validate test environments and data, implement code fixes, and generate technical reports.
  • Deliver advanced network management capabilities for a global network infrastructure comparable in scale and complexity to a Fortune 50 enterprise.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, providing full lifecycle support for both legacy and modern NMS platforms.
  • Oversee managerial and administrative functions related to the Network Management team, including staffing and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with architecture and operations teams, senior government technical executives, mission leaders, commercial vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure NMS responsiveness to operational priorities and national security requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of network components, NMS implementation, management, and operations in coordination with Service Management and Operations teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application configuration and environmental issues to maintain optimal network performance.

Requirements

Required Qualifications: Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years, master’s and 10 years, bachelor’s and 12 years, associates and 14 years or HS diploma and 16 years. Additional required qualifications include:

  • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
  • Experience managing Network Management Systems (NMS) teams geographically dispersed.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills and ability to manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Qualified candidates will have experience in IT network management systems implementation, operation and maintenance that monitor, analyze and manages network devices and their performance.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including attention to detail, multitasking and critical thinking skills.
  • Working in a team environment within a professional office setting.
  • Thrive within a highly dynamic and changing environment while adapting and managing shifting customer priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Service Now or similar ITSM, and Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • In order to be considered for this position, you must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record and be eligible to drive an AT&T company vehicle.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time .

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experienced with Microfocus Network Automation, Network Node Manager, Riverbed Platforms and other IT tool suites.
  • Ability to motivate employees and positively influence execution through accountability.
