Job description

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to own the end-to-end mobile experience: from understanding the problem and mapping user flows, to wireframes, high-fidelity screens, prototypes and developer handover.

This role suits someone who thinks beyond the visual layer - how users move through a product, where they hesitate and what they are actually trying to accomplish. You will shape complete journeys, not just individual screens.

What You’ll Do

Product understanding and UX planning

  • Translate business requirements into clear, usable product experiences.

  • Work directly with the founder, product and engineering teams on what gets built and why.

  • Develop a practical understanding of users, including their goals, friction points and behaviour.

  • Study comparable applications and identify patterns worth adopting, improving or avoiding.

  • Create personas, journey maps and information architecture where they add genuine value.

  • Identify confusing steps, redundant screens and gaps, then propose better alternatives.

User flows

  • Map complete user flows before high-fidelity design begins.

  • Cover onboarding, login, profile setup, search, discovery, recommendations, payments and account settings.

  • Define success, error, empty, loading and confirmation states for every important flow.

  • Make sure critical actions can be completed with minimum friction.

  • Produce flow diagrams that product and development teams can work from.

Wireframing

  • Build low-fidelity wireframes for all major features.

  • Explore multiple layout directions before finalising a solution.

  • Focus on structure, navigation, content hierarchy and available user actions.

  • Present work to the team, incorporate feedback and confirm functionality before visual design begins.

Interface design

  • Design clean, modern and premium mobile screens for Android and iOS.

  • Maintain consistency across typography, spacing, colour, iconography and components.

  • Give every screen a clear purpose and an obvious primary action.

  • Create responsive layouts that work across relevant screen sizes.

  • Meet accessibility and readability standards.

  • Design the complete set of states: default, active, selected, loading, empty, error, disabled and success.

Prototyping

  • Build clickable Figma prototypes that demonstrate navigation, interactions and product behaviour.

  • Add transitions and micro-interactions where they improve clarity or delight.

  • Use prototypes for product reviews, usability testing and developer walkthroughs.

  • Keep prototypes current as product flows evolve.

Design system

  • Build and maintain a scalable system covering buttons, inputs, cards, navigation bars, tabs, modals, filters, dropdowns, notifications and forms.

  • Define typography, colour, spacing, grids and icon usage.

  • Use Figma components, variants and auto layout correctly.

  • Keep naming conventions and file organisation consistent as the system grows.

Developer handover

  • Deliver development-ready designs with specifications for dimensions, spacing, typography, colour, assets, component behaviour and interactions.

  • Organise Figma files so engineers can navigate them independently.

  • Export icons, images and other assets in the required formats.

  • Remain involved throughout development to answer questions and adapt designs to technical constraints.

Design QA

  • Review builds against approved designs and identify drift in spacing, typography, colour, icons and alignment.

  • Verify that interactions and navigation behave as intended.

  • Maintain a practical design QA checklist and work with developers to close issues.

  • Test across relevant devices and screen sizes.

Testing and iteration

  • Run basic usability tests with internal or external users.

  • Observe where users get stuck, collect feedback and convert findings into improvements.

  • Review product analytics when available and propose changes that improve engagement and retention.

Documentation and communication

  • Document key journeys, design decisions and component guidelines.

  • Share regular progress updates and raise delays, dependencies or technical concerns early.

  • Maintain version control and clear naming conventions in Figma.

  • Participate actively in design reviews and sprint planning.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience designing mobile applications, supported by a portfolio of shipped or development-ready work.

  • Strong command of Figma, including components, variants, auto layout and prototyping.

  • Working knowledge of Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design.

  • Demonstrated ability to move from problem to flow, wireframe and final UI - not visual execution alone.

  • Experience building or maintaining a design system.

  • Comfort working with developers and explaining design decisions with clear reasoning.

  • Clear written and spoken communication.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with fashion-tech, marketplace, e-commerce or consumer subscription products.

  • Motion and micro-interaction experience using Figma Smart Animate, Rive, Lottie or After Effects.

  • Familiarity with product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude or Firebase.

  • Basic understanding of frontend and mobile development constraints, including React Native, Flutter or native applications.

  • Hands-on usability testing experience.

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive compensation based on experience and portfolio.

  • Direct collaboration with the founder and core product team.

  • Meaningful ownership of the mobile product experience.

  • The opportunity to design an AI-powered consumer application from an early stage.

  • A flexible working environment with a strong focus on accountability.

  • Exposure to product strategy, artificial intelligence, fashion-tech and consumer behaviour.

  • Support for professional learning and skill development.

  • A collaborative environment where strong ideas can influence the product.

  • The opportunity to build work that becomes an important part of your professional portfolio.

Join us to do more than design screens. Help shape a product, understand its users and build an experience people genuinely enjoy using. *
