Job title Lead Data Solution Architect Function Advisory - Manager Roles & Responsibilities Joining KPMG Lighthouse as an architect gives you the opportunity to work at the intersection of strategy and execution, shaping how organizations use data and technology to achieve their goals. - Translate business objectives into a clear and coherent architecture vision (data, enterprise, or both).
- Define architecture principles and guardrails that guide teams and ensure alignment across projects and products.
- Build and maintain architectural blueprints such as capability maps, landscape diagrams, and target-state architectures.
- Support the creation of roadmaps and investment decisions by providing well-founded architectural insights.
- Organize or guide architectural governance to help teams design and deliver in a consistent, high-quality manner.
Data Architecture Focus
- Design data landscapes, data platforms, and reporting/analytics components.
- Define standards for data management and governance (metadata, data quality, lineage, MDM, etc.).
Enterprise Architecture Focus
- Ensure end-to-end alignment between business and IT.
- Assess how strategic changes impact the operating model and existing IT assets.
- Develop target architectures and manage technical reference models and standards.
- Guide organizations through their transformation toward a future-ready state.
Clients & Projects Focus
- Work on a mix of short and long engagements, from quick architecture assessments to multi-year transformations.
- Contribute to data platform design, data governance, analytics architecture, and enterprise-architecture activities.
- Collaborate with large mid-market clients to multinationals across all major sectors: public sector, healthcare, financial services, energy, industry, life sciences, retail, telecom, media, and technology.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a technical role with a strong focus on data (e.g., data engineer, data architect, analyst, DevOps engineer, software engineer, or data scientist).
- A solution-oriented mindset supported by strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proactive, accountable, and driven, with the potential to guide and inspire others.
- Strong business acumen and confidence in client-facing situations.
- Hands-on experience with data solutions such as data lakes, data integration, data migration, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Solid understanding of modern data architectures, streaming technologies, and data security best practices.
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- An interest in evolving technologies and concepts such as data governance, data mesh, data vault 2.0, delta lake, DWH automation, and event streaming.
- Fluent in Dutch and English; French is considered a plus.
