Job description

As a Web Engineer at Dojo, you’ll join our Customer Apps team to build and scale the customer-facing applications that help businesses run smoothly. Your goal will be to transform how our customers interact with Dojo by streamlining their processes into a single, intuitive suite of tools. You’ll work across multiple product domains-from payment device management to loyalty schemes-crafting a robust and scalable infrastructure that supports rapid feature development and helps shape the future of our customer experience.

What you will do…

  • Technically design and develop new product features using modern frontend technologies, writing high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with design and product teams to define user experiences and technical requirements, ensuring we build features that truly solve customer problems.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, architectural discussions, and team planning to drive our technical direction forward.
  • Contribute to our collaborative web engineering culture by participating in the Web Chapter and mentoring junior colleagues in modern best practices.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in frontend web development, with expert knowledge of React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
  • A deep understanding of modern frontend architecture, including state management, component patterns, and hooks.
  • Experience with web testing frameworks (like Jest or Cypress) and CSS-in-JS libraries (such as Vanilla Extract or Emotion).
  • A solid grasp of CI/CD processes, version control with Git, and how backend APIs like GraphQL integrate with frontend systems.
  • A passion for product quality and creating exceptional user experiences, backed by strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience contributing to a design system (e.g., Storybook) is a strong plus, as is knowledge of web accessibility standards.

About the company

We’re reinventing payments. In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK. Our payments infrastructure, purpose-built for in-person commerce, is game changing.

Now, over 150,000 customers across four countries choose to transact billions with us every year. But we’re just getting started.

Our people are the driving force behind our success. They are our greatest investment and our ultimate competitive advantage. We hire exceptional people and give them the autonomy, trust, and ownership to thrive. The results take care of themselves.
