Job description
Our client is seeking a Senior Agile Coach to drive enterprise Agile transformation within a complex technology organization. This strategic leadership role partners with business and technology stakeholders to strengthen Agile maturity, improve product delivery, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is an experienced coach and change leader who can influence across all levels of the organization while enabling teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support critical business initiatives.
This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, or North Dakota and will work PST hours.
Senior Agile Coach Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise Agile transformation initiatives by coaching executives, technology leaders, Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, and delivery teams on Lean, Agile, and scaled Agile methodologies.
- Partner with business and technology leadership to establish and mature a product operating model that aligns strategic priorities with technology investments and customer value.
- Facilitate enterprise planning activities, including Program Increment (PI) Planning, quarterly planning sessions, roadmap development, portfolio planning, and cross-functional dependency management.
- Coach teams on backlog refinement, roadmap planning, prioritization, estimation techniques, and value-driven delivery practices to improve execution and predictability.
- Establish Agile governance standards, delivery metrics, reporting dashboards, and continuous improvement practices that measure organizational health and delivery performance.
- Identify organizational impediments and collaborate with leadership to develop scalable, sustainable solutions that improve team effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Agile practitioners while strengthening collaboration between business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners.
- Champion Lean thinking, organizational change management, and the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled delivery practices, to improve software development and operational workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 8 or more years of experience leading Agile delivery, enterprise transformation, or organizational change initiatives within large, complex organizations.
- 5 or more years of experience coaching Agile teams and leaders while implementing Lean, Agile, or SAFe practices across multiple cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating executive planning sessions, portfolio planning, roadmap development, and large-scale Agile transformation initiatives.
- Experience working within healthcare, healthcare technology, or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to influence leaders, drive organizational change, and build alignment across business and technology teams without direct authority.
- Experience implementing Agile metrics, executive reporting, continuous improvement frameworks, and delivery performance dashboards.
- Professional Agile certifications such as SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC), Release Train Engineer (RTE), ICAgile Enterprise Coach, Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) are preferred. Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Microsoft 365, and Agile reporting tools is highly desirable.
