Job description
The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, and supports secure enterprise applications, cloud-native services, and automated software delivery solutions. This role focuses on CI/CD automation, containerization, Kubernetes deployments, secure coding practices, observability, and collaboration with DevSecOps and SRE teams to deliver reliable, mission-critical systems.
Requirements
- Experience building automated unit, integration, regression, performance, and security tests into build and release workflows. \n
- Experience with containerization and Kubernetes-based application deployment \n
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for application environments and supporting cloud resources. \n
- Experience instrumenting applications with logging, metrics, and tracing to support observability and reliability monitoring. \n
- Must be able to occasionally travelC. \n
- Must have a US Citizenship \n
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance. \n
- The ability to travel, as needed, to customer sites. \n, * Experience implementing blue/green, canary, rolling, or other advanced deployment strategies \n
- Experience applying secure coding standards and approved dependency management practices. \n
- Experience collaborating with Site Reliability Engineers to align application instrumentation with SLIs and SLOs. \n
- Experience improving deployment frequency and reducing change failure rate. \n
- Experience maintaining artifact repositories and build traceability across sandbox, staging, and production environments. \n
- Familiarity with zero-trust and least-privilege principles as applied to application and pipeline design. \n
Benefits & conditions
- Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for assigned applications, including test integration and artifact/build traceability across environments. \n
- Implement automated container image builds, tagging, signing, and vulnerability scanning as part of the standard build process. \n
- Instrument applications with required logging, metrics, and tracing standards; collaborate with SRE personnel to align SLIs, SLOs, and monitoring requirements. \n
- Implement deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling) and validate system readiness prior to production releases. \n
- Apply secure coding standards and dependency management practices; support shift-left security practices (i.e., integrating security testing and secure coding standards early in design and development, rather than only before deployment) throughout the SDLC. \n
- Collaborate with DevSecOps and SRE teams on release engineering, post-deployment validation, and rollback/backout procedures. \n
- Contribute to continuous improvement of automation, security integration, and deployment efficiency across HAPS applications. \n
