Junior Software Engineer - Tools and Applications

We’re seeking a software engineer to support our AI infrastructure team at Columbia, MD. In this role, you’ll develop and maintain high-quality tools and applications that enable seamless use of AI by the workforce., * Develop high-quality AI tools and applications for the workforce to use

• Ensure high availability, reliability, performance, and security of AI tools
• Modify FOSS (Free and Open-Source Software) to accommodate customer’s use cases
• Regularly engage with customers to elicit requirements and develop solutions
• Maintain existing customer-facing infrastructure and applications for reliable services

• Familiarity with UI/UX principles
• Knowledge of and experience using LLMs as part of a code solution workflow
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Strong communication skills, willingness to ask questions
• Proficiency with Python or another Object-Oriented Programming language

Nice to Have:

• Experience with LLM UI Open-Source software such as OpenWebUI
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud service providers
• Experience with Kubernetes/Helm
• Familiarity with Argo CD and/or other CI/CD frameworks
• Experience supporting production software using SRE best practices
• Experience with Docker and containerization

Experience Required: 3 years with Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or 7 years without degree
